Service Notice, September 2nd, 3:00pm: The weather forecast has changed and
there is now a possibility of service interuption, due to wind and wave
conditions, Friday evening and Saturday morning. However, the high winds and
seas associated with the storm traveling off shore will pass clear of our
region by mid-day Saturday, leaving us with abundant sunshine, calmer seas,
and a beautiful weekend.
IF cancellation of ferry service becomes necessary, we will provide
transportation from Boston to Provincetown, and return, with privately
chartered motor coaches. These coaches will leave from Boston and
Provincetown's ticketing locations and depart on the same schedule as the
fast ferries.
The only exception to this may be the 7:30pm departure from Ptown on Friday,
when the winds might be so strong that the busses will decide not to operate
either. Passengers should not count on transit from Ptown Friday evening,
although we will have busses on hand should conditions permit.
Travel time is expected to be roughly 2 hours and 20 minutes. The 9:00am
Traditional Ferry service (the slower, 3 hr boat) on Saturday, however, will
be cancelled altogether. We will post updates to the weather and our service
contingencies here, when changes occur.
